By purchasing or participating in the Storytowns Christmas Scavenger Hunt, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. The Game
The Christmas Scavenger Hunt is a self-guided driving and walking activity operated by Storytowns.
Participants follow online audio clues and travel to different locations to find Christmas reindeer displayed at participating locations.
A vehicle may be required to travel between locations.
2. Cost and Access
Access to the game costs $15 AUD per purchase.
Payment is processed securely through Square.
Once payment has been successfully completed, access to the game is provided for 48 hours. The 48-hour period begins when access is activated following successful payment.
Game access is intended for the purchaser and the family or group participating with them. Game links or access should not be publicly shared, published or redistributed.
3. Adult Supervision
The hunt is designed as a family activity.
Children must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
Parents and guardians remain responsible for the supervision, behaviour and safety of children participating in the hunt.
4. Driving and Road Safety
Participants are responsible for travelling safely between hunt locations.
Drivers must comply with all applicable road, traffic and parking laws.
Do not use a mobile phone, read clues, watch the game or interact with the website while driving. A passenger should operate the game while the vehicle is moving, or the driver should safely park before using the website.
Participants should only cross roads at safe locations and follow pedestrian signs and instructions.
5. Participant Safety
Participation is undertaken at the participant's own risk, subject to any rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Participants are responsible for assessing weather, traffic, terrain, accessibility and other conditions before and during the hunt.
Please do not enter private, restricted or unsafe areas to find a reindeer. Reindeer should be visible from areas normally accessible to customers or the public.
6. Participating Locations
Participating businesses and locations help host elements of the scavenger hunt.
Opening hours, access, displays and other circumstances may change without notice.
Where reasonably possible, Storytowns will attempt to address a missing or inaccessible clue or location.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, participating businesses are not the operator of the scavenger hunt.
7. Phones, Internet and Technical Requirements
Participants require a compatible internet-connected device to access the game.
Mobile reception, internet availability, device performance and battery life may vary throughout the hunt.
Storytowns cannot guarantee uninterrupted access where an issue is caused by mobile coverage, the participant's device, internet provider or circumstances outside Storytowns' reasonable control.
8. Payments, Cancellations and Refunds
Please check that you are ready to participate before purchasing.
Refund requests will be considered where required under the Australian Consumer Law, including where applicable if the service has a major problem or cannot be provided as described.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Change of mind refunds are not guaranteed.
9. 48-Hour Access
Game access expires 48 hours after activation.
Participants should complete the hunt within this period.
Storytowns may extend or restore access where a verified technical problem with the Storytowns service prevented reasonable use of the game.
10. Prizes
Where a prize is offered, any additional prize conditions displayed on the game website form part of these Terms & Conditions.
Participants must provide accurate information when submitting an entry.
Any closing dates, eligibility requirements, winner selection method and prize details displayed for the relevant hunt apply.
11. Privacy
Storytowns may collect information necessary to process purchases, provide game access, respond to enquiries and administer prize entries.
Payment card information is processed by the relevant payment provider and is not stored directly by Storytowns unless expressly stated.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with Storytowns' Privacy Policy and applicable Australian privacy laws.
12. Changes or Cancellation
Storytowns may modify clues, participating locations or other aspects of the hunt where reasonably necessary due to circumstances such as business closures, weather, safety concerns or events outside Storytowns' control.
If the hunt cannot reasonably be provided as purchased, participants may have rights to a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law.
13. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Storytowns is not responsible for loss, injury or damage resulting from a participant's failure to follow road rules, safety instructions or these Terms & Conditions, or from circumstances outside Storytowns' reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or limit liability or consumer rights where doing so would be unlawful.
