How long does production take?

Lite packages are live on the app within 14 days of signing off the scripts. Pro packages typically take 3–5 weeks to allow for travel, interviews and full production.

Is there an ongoing annual fee?

Your first year on the app is free. After that, a renewal fee of $55 AUD per audio per year keeps your tour live and maintained on the platform.

Does Storytowns market the audio guides?

We don't run paid advertising directly, but we partner closely with you to get your guides out there. Every package includes QR codes, digital assets, social media content and flyers.

Can I add more audios later?

Yes — you can expand your tour at any time by purchasing additional audios at the same package rate. Many councils start small and grow over time.

What's the difference between Local Tour and Townscape?

Local Tours are designed for walking trails and train journeys. Townscape is built for self-driving routes with longer, deeper narratives between towns.

What do you need from us to get started?

Just a list of locations you'd like covered and some background on each — we handle scripting, production, narration and app publishing from there.

Do you need to visit our town?

Lite packages are produced in-house from your supplied content. Pro packages include travel to your town for on-location interviews and recordings.

Are there extra costs involved?

Yes — some disbursements may apply depending on your package. Flights within Australia are included for all Pro Tours. Accommodation and car hire are not included, but if you can provide a vehicle or accommodation locally that will reduce costs. Additional disbursements may also include payments to local interviewees — such as Elders or community members — who request a fee for their time and cultural knowledge. We'll always discuss any expected disbursements with you upfront before work begins.
